Weslaco East senior pitcher Eduardo Hernandez will play collegiate baseball after signing his letter of intent to Missouri Valley College on Wednesday afternoon.

Hernandez was named District 32-5A pitcher of the year and an all-area outfielder in his junior year. Last February, the Wildcats pitcher threw the only perfect game in program history against Brownsville Pace.

"It means everything to me," Hernandez said. "It's everything I wanted; obviously you go play college ball and also get my degree done. The coaches, I felt the hospitality by them. I think I'm going to make a real good friendship with all of them."
