Weslaco Resident Wants City to be Proactive in Flood Prevention

WESLACO- A Weslaco man wants his city to be proactive in preventing future flooding.

Jose Espinoza said he's still recovering from damages caused by the June floods.

The IBWC is working to clear out the valley's main drainage systems, including vegetation and sediment built up in the Arroyo Colorado.

CHANNEL 5's Frank McCaffrey reached out to the Weslaco city leaders to see if they're working along with the IBWC.
