Woman Remembers Deadly Hurricane Experience in Puerto Rico

MCALLEN – Friday marks two years since the deadly Hurricane Maria plowed through Puerto Rico; the government death toll more than 2,000 people.

The Category 4 hurricane was an event that changed Sol Deliz’s life.

For three weeks, her and her family lost all connection for survival.

One day, Deliz decided to go to a high point to get cell service; she made a call for help to her brother living in McAllen.

Three weeks after the hurricane her family arrived to McAllen; she says this is her new home.
