DHR Health holds burn prevention event ahead of Fourth of July weekend

The Fourth of July is next week, and DHR Health is reminding Rio Grande Valley families to be careful with cooking and fireworks.
Hospital officials say they see an increase in patients with burn injuries this time of year. DHR Health held a Thursday burn prevention event to go over the do's and don'ts.
"Many people don't know you're not supposed to light your grill with gasoline," DHR Health Trauma Surgeon Dweayne Edwards said. "But there are a lot of people that light their grill with gasoline."
Experts say lighting a grill with gasoline can lead to fires and severe burns.
