Investigation underway into deadly domestic violence case near Edinburg
EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide near Edinburg. Officials believe it is a case of domestic violence.
It happened at a home on Davis Road, west of Brushline Road.
According to Sheriff Eddie Guerra, neighbors called Wednesday night to report arguing and possible gunfire. Deputies checked it out, but the door was locked and they weren’t able to make contact with anyone inside.
A second check Thursday, sheriff’s deputies made entry into the home and discovered the bodies of a 73-year-old man and a woman in her 40s. Both had gunshot wounds.
An autopsy was ordered. The investigation is ongoing.
