Local Group Works to Make Voter Registrations Increase
WESLACO - An election registration deadline is less than two weeks away.
A Rio Grande Valley based grass roots group working to help register voters says South Texas continues to fall 20 percent below the state average when it comes to people casting their ballot.
Out of the estimated 1 million people living in the county, Hidalgo County Elections Department tells us as of Wednesday, 370,937 are registered to vote.
October 7th is the last day to register or make changes to vote in the November election.
