Timeline of Former Judge Delgado's Investigation
MCALLEN - The investigation into former District Judge Rudy Delgado started three years ago, leading to his conviction Thursday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was first tipped off about Rudy Delgado’s crimes in 2008.
According to a criminal complaint, the information came from a confidential FBI source.
In 2016 they started their investigation.
On Feb. 2, 2018 Rudy Delgado was arrested following that two year investigation.
Later that month, a grand jury decided there was enough evidence in the case to take him to trial.
A few days later, the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct suspended him without pay.
His state annual salary at the time was $140,000.
His win for the 13th Court of Appeals Place 4 seat is credited to straight ticket voting.
On Thursday, a federal jury convicted the former district judge guilty on all counts.
