Training Available for Active Shooter Situations
WESLACO - The deadly shooting in El Paso hit close to home, not just geographically, but because of potential motives for the training available for active shooting situations
El Paso officials believe Hispanics and migrants coming into the U.S. were the main target Saturday.
Our home is very similar to El Paso, a border town with a giant Hispanic community.
The similarities bring the fear from West Texas to our own streets.
"If there is an active shooter you are either going to do one of three things... You're going to run... You're going to hide... Or you're going to fight", says Hidalgo county Sheriff Eddie Guerra.
Sheriff Eddie Guerra reminds us they offer active shooter training for everyone.
It’s all free of charge. All you have to do is call the Sheriff’s Office and set up an appointment at 956-381-7979.
