WESLACO – A woman’s mission to help families overcome the devastation of recent floods led her to drive hundreds of miles to the Rio Grande Valley.

Jessica Justice, of Arkansas, says she saw the flood aftermath through social media and immediately knew she had to act.

She made the trip down South Texas and brought toiletries, laundry soap, diapers and water.

On Thursday, Justice was in the Las Brisas neighborhood in Weslaco. She says she’s also helped in McAllen and in Mercedes.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke to a homeowner who received a few of the flood relief care packages.
