Arrest Made in Case of Missing Raymondville Woman

RAYMONDVILLE – A man was charged in connection to a missing persons case from Raymondville.

Raymondville Police Chief Uvaldo Zamora confirmed to CHANNEL 5 NEWS the body found in a canal near Delta Lake belonged to 49-year-old Nora Conde Villalobos. She had been missing since April 18. 

The body of Villalobos was found Tuesday morning in a canal off of FM 1015 and Nittler Road. 

Juan Manuel Tobias went before a judge on Wednesday and charged with murder. Zamora said Tobias was Villalobos' former boyfriend.

Willacy County District Attorney Annette Hinojosa said the 35-year-old has a violent history.

Tobias’ bond was set at $1 million.

The Raymondville Police Department scheduled a press conference for the case on Thursday. Zamora said he and the veteran’s family members will release more information.
