Border Patrol Make Multiple Arrests of Alleged Offenders

WESLACO – U.S. Border Patrol said multiple people with a history of serious offenses were caught trying to enter the U.S. illegally through the Rio Grande Valley.

On Sunday, a Mexican national wanted for sexual assault of a child by South Padre Island police was arrested near Progreso.

A Salvadoran national was arrested Saturday after agents say he tried to go around the Falfurrias checkpoint. He has a previous conviction for negligent manslaughter.

On Friday, two Salvadorians, one an alleged gang member and the other previously convicted for intoxication manslaughter, were allegedly caught trying to cross the border near McAllen.
