Bullet Pierces through Roof of Brownsville Church during New Year's Celebration
BROWNSVILLE – A member of a church was nearly injured in the middle of worship when a bullet went through the roof of a church during the New Year’s celebration.
A group of about 40 to 50 people gathered at Iglesia Camino Del Rey in Brownsville to bring in the New Year.
Pastor Ezequiel Iracheta says he moved everyone to an area under a two-story part of their church hoping it would make a difference in case more bullets were to fall.
"We're finishing the year and people are praying to God and all of a sudden, there's danger around us. It gets you to think about your life," says Iracheta.
This is the second time a bullet has pierced through this church.
