Call from Border Patrol Leads to Detention of 22 Immigrants in Mexico
WESLACO – A call to Mexican authorities by Border Patrol resulted in the detention of 22 immigrants staged along the Rio Grande about to smuggle into the U.S.
Border Patrol’s foreign operations branch works with authorities across the border.
Officials told CHANNEL 5 NEWS these kind of communications are going on daily. Oftentimes, they’re sharing data, trends and information.
Other times, those channels are used when smugglers are fleeing back into Mexico.
