HIDALGO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection stopped a Reynosa man from crossing with hundreds of thousands of dollars in unreported currency.

CBP officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge referred a vehicle for further inspection. They subsequently discovered more than $300,000 in unreported currency.

The 43-year-old driver, a Mexican national, was arrested and the money seized. He’s in Homeland Security custody.
