WESLACO – The government is looking to hire hundreds of Rio Grande Valley residents for the 2020 census count.

Workforce Solutions is partnering with the Census Bureau to coordinate hiring across the Valley.

These positions will be part-time, temporary, seasonal jobs that are important for those with very little or no job experience.

"The only requirements are that you must be at least 18 years of age, that you have a social security number and that you are also a citizen of the United States," says Workforce Solutions representative, Mike Gonzalez.

The pay will start at $14 an hour for a variety of positions.

The application to apply is online only; residents may stop by any Workforce Solutions office for help filling the application out.
