RIO HONDO – A judge has ordered the arrest of a Cameron County man said to be responsible for a massive toxic paint fire in 2012.

Court orders indicate William Templeton failed to show up to court this month to handle the 6-year-old case.

His property, located at the intersection of FM 106 and FM 803, has been cited numerous times by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Residents in the surrounding areas have also told CHANNEL 5 NEWS they are upset Templeton hasn’t been held accountable and are afraid of the negative effects his place could cause to their health.
