Early voting in Texas starts on Tuesday and Rio Grande Valley residents can now vote for local candidates.

Mark Murray, an assistant political science professor at South Texas College said doing research on the candidate will make it easier when deciding who to vote for.

"You don't want to just go in and just be — you know, flipping a coin to decide who you want to lead you," Murray said.
