The city of Edinburg's Economic Development Corporation Stimulus Program Aimed at Recovering from COVID-19 (SPARC) is back for a fourth round to assist locally owned businesses with economic relief from the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news release from the city.

Officials say SPARC 4.0 is designed to assist businesses and residents with the financial means to invest into their local Edinburg economy.

“The SPARC 4.0 Facade Improvement Program will provide funding up to $10,000 for locally-owned businesses to improve and beautify their business through physical improvements,” the news release stated. “The SPARC 4.0 Home-Based Business Program will provide a $2,000 award to business owners who are based out of their homes.”

The city will begin accepting applications from local businesses for SPARC 4.0 at 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, until all funds have been depleted.
