BROWNSVILLE – Strong winds continue being a problem for an electric fixture supply store.

Francisco Amador works at the supply store, where he says a tree fell on an electric line.

Amador’s boss told him he called the city a week ago.

"I thought the city or someone was going to do it but, I'll do it myself I guess," he says.

Amador says he strategically cut branch after branch, staying away from the one on the electric line.

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas reached out to the Brownsville Public Utility Board about the issue.

The Public Communications Coordinator Ryan Greenfeld says this is the first time they hear about this issue.

Greenfeld says he doesn’t recommend people take matters into their own hands.

He advises anyone in a similar situation to contact their local utility company.
