MCALLEN - An FBI spokesperson is providing very little information about the presence of agents at a McAllen business.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS got a tip about FBI agents at the Dannenbaum Engineering offices located on West Nolana this morning. When a crew arrived, federal agents and McAllen police were at the scene.

The company’s website states they’re involved in planning and designs of infrastructure projects in Texas.

FBI Special Agent Michelle Lee only stated agents are "conducting law enforcement activity." She added there wasn't any public safety threat at the location.

It’s the same statement made in reference to FBI presence this morning at other building in Laredo and Houston.

The agency also sent us the following statement, which reads in part:

“Dannenbaum Engineering, one of the state’s premier firms for infrastructure planning and design, is cooperating with federal authorities regarding government requests for information. Company management is investigating the bases of the government requests. We are uncertain whether the inquiry is focused on the company’s activities or those of its business competitors. We intend to comment further when appropriate.”

Both McAllen police and the Department of Public Safety said they’re deferring information to the FBI.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS will bring you any updates as soon as they're available.
