HARGILL – Fire crews just put out a brush fire in Hargill.

It happened near the corner of FM 493 and 5th Street.

Edinburg fire crews finished putting out a blaze they’re considering suspicious.

"Because of the area we're in and because of the history and some of the fires we've recently had in this area, we're going to treat it as suspicious. We're not going to leave any stones unturned and we're going to be working pretty hard," said Hidalgo County Fire Marshal investigator John Franz.

Franz tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the fire began as a grass fire which jumped to a shed and eventually a home.

The shed was completely burned while the home was only partially burned.

There are no reports of anyone being in the home at the time of the fire.

Official say they will continue to investigate the cause of the suspicious fire.
