PHARR - Brownsville Veterans has been chasing Mission Veterans in the 16-5A, Division 1 race most of the district season.  An early season loss in Mission has put the Chargers in the position of needing help to share a district title.  A double overtime loss at PSJA Southwest 41-38 on Thursday has likely sidelined any hopes of a 2018 trophy.  After trailing 21-7 at the half, the Javelinas roared back to force extra football and record the upset victory.  In other Thursday night action, district leaders Vela and PSJA remained perfect in league play.  The SaberCats shutout Donna North 63-0 to remain atop 31-6A.  PSJA defeated McAllen 38-0 to maintain the lead in 30-6A.

Other scores on Thursday:
Harlingen South - 41, Rivera - 20
McAllen Memorial - 30, Juarez-Lincoln - 7
Pioneer - 28, Cigarroa - 7
