Fugitive Captured at SPI for Alleged Murder Waives Right to Extradition Hearing

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The fugitive who was captured at South Padre Island for allegedly killing her husband and another woman has waived her right to an extradition hearing.

Lois Ann Riess also waived her right to have a Texas-appointed attorney.

Riess is accused of killing her husband in Minnesota and killing a woman in Florida to steal her identity.

The Cameron County District Attorney’s office says Florida and Minnesota authorities have 10 business days to pick up the 56-year-old from Cameron County Jail.
