HARLINGEN – Harlingen police are searching for the men caught on surveillance video breaking into a restaurant on the 800 block of Morgan Blvd.

The first suspect can be seen breaking the glass door of the business by kicking and smashing it with a hammer. The second suspect is seen standing outside.

The first suspect walks directly to the register, snatches it and they both take off.

Harlingen police believe the suspects knew exactly what they were looking for.

“Most criminals will see an opportunity, if they see a register they’re going to take a chance. Maybe there’s money in it, maybe there isn’t, but don’t leave your money in the register. Lock it away in a safe somewhere, deposit it in a bank and always keep your businesses locked. Don’t make it easy for these guys,” Harlingen Police Sgt. Larry Moore said.

If anyone thinks they recognize the men, they’re asked to call Harlingen Crime Stoppers at 956-425-8477. The caller can remain anonymous. If their tip leads to an arrest, they may be eligible for a cash reward.
