Hidalgo Co. Rancher's Livestock Threatened by Flooding
MERCEDES – The current flooding is not only affecting people, it's also threatening livestock.
One local rancher, who has spent his life helping other ranchers says he's lost everything.
Teo Martinez, who is known as the Hidalgo County cowboy, takes in animals at no charge.
He says on Wednesday he spent the day pulling out his animals from flood waters.
Though he usually lends a hand helping other animals, he's now restricted to taking care of his 10 horses and six cows.
If you have any questions about livestock, he still wants to help. You can call him at 956-246-7339.
KRGV's Christian Von Preysing spoke with Martinez as he continues to recover the little bit he can.
