CIBOLO, Texas (AP) - A Japanese auto parts supplier says it will build a new plant and bring 900 jobs to a suburb of San Antonio.

Transmission maker Aisin AW said Tuesday it will build a new production site in Cibolo, Texas, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) outside of San Antonio. The company will invest $400 million toward the future facility focused on the production of automatic transmissions.

Aisin made the announcement together with Japanese automaker Toyota in San Antonio. Toyota has announced it will invest $391 million at its San Antonio truck assembly plant.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott says Texas "continues to build on its reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse thanks to investments from innovative companies like Toyota and Aisin AW."
