John Anderson to be new Tyler Morning Telegraph editor

TYLER, Texas (AP) - New York newspaper editor John Anderson has been named the new editor of the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

The newspaper reports Anderson, who has been editor of the Batavia Daily News in Batavia, New York, will succeed Emily Guevara, who is leaving Nov. 1.

The New York State Publishers Association and New York Press Association awarded 12 top 2019 awards to Anderson's newsroom. The DailyNews won for investigative reporting, best video, sports coverage, news features and advertising supplements. Anderson also is a past Associated Press columnist of the year and two-time winner of GateHouse Media's national columnist of the year citation.

Before his Batavia posting, Anderson had been regional editor for a group of GateHouse Media newspapers and a bureau chief for the Olean Times Herald in Olean, New York.
