After a three-year battle in court, the Cavazos family has their land back.

The federal government was seeking to use six acres of land the family owned to build a border wall.

The family says their property is part of their family history.

"This is personal to us, we were born here,” Jose Alfredo Cavazos said. “Our grandmother taught us how to work this land."

Their legal fight may not be over.

If a new president comes into office, he family could be facing the same legal challenges all over again.
