SAN BENITO – A local family who lost their son in an officer-involved shooting is seeking more information about the case.

Ricardo Trevino, 21, was killed after a chase with San Benito police on Dec. 7.

Trevino’s mother, April Flores, says she wants answers as to why the officers shot and thinks it never should have gone that far.

"Here we stand at 13 weeks since my son was brutally murdered by five officers and up to now, no names have been released," says Flores.

The Texas Rangers assigned to the case say there is no update and they are still investigating.

Trevino’s father, Art Flores, is a supervisor at the San Benito Police Department.

He says he is unsatisfied with how long the case is taking.

Art says he still goes to work every day, but it’s the hardest thing he’s ever done.

The Flores family has been told the investigation should be over by April or May.
