Local Restaurant Prepares for Texas Citrus Fiesta Event in Mission
MISSION – The Texas Citrus Fiesta is about to kick off.
Crews are busy setting up for the event, which is held annually in Mission.
One local restaurant is expecting to be busy over the weekend.
KRGV’s Taylor Winkel spoke with the assistant manager for Molcas Restaurant, which is located in the area where the parade takes place.
"It's a way you can get people to come into your business. And it's a way people get to see your business,” explains Thamara Guzman.
The city of Mission sees their sales tax revenue increase by five percent during this time.
The following roads will be closed on Saturday due to the Texas Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges:
- 9th and 10th Streets west from Conway to Perkins
- Thornton North to 2 Mile Line
- All cross streets off Conway along the route with the exception of Griffin Parkway (FM-495), Kika de la Garza, 6th Street, 4th Street, and 1st Street
