EDINBURG – An Edinburg man says his new property continues to flood but the rain isn’t causing it.

Gregorio Govea says he noticed the ground on his land was saturated even after heavy rainfall, allowing his property to become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

He believes the water is coming from a pipe that runs under the property but he doesn’t know who it belongs to.

KRGV’s Cecilia Gutierrez reached out to the Hidalgo County Drainage District operations manager about the issue.

Jaime Salazar says they’ll be sending an engineer to inspect the property and figure out where the water is coming from.
