Mandatory Evacuation Notice Issued for Residents, Businesses on Stretch of FM 495
PALMVIEW – Officials are issuing a mandatory evacuation notice to residents and businesses in Palmview due to water overflow at the Mission drainage canal.
A press release issued out Friday by Mayor Gerardo Perez instructs those on FM 495 between Bentsen Palm and Minnesota roads to vacate as soon as possible.
It states the rainfall has created hidden sinkholes along Veterans Boulevard posing a threat to others.
Residents can self-evacuate or contact 911 for assistance. Call 956-432-0300 to confirm if you made it out safely.
City hall operations have been canceled until further notice.
The order will remain in effect until Monday, June 25.
