The mother of a fallen marine says his U.S. Congressional Medal of Honor is finally complete.

Freddy Gonzalez was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1969 for his sacrifice in Vietnam.

His mother Dolia Gonzalez says she never received the Medal of Honor flag, normally awarded with the medal.

She says the U.S. military finally awarded her the flag at Freddy Gonzalez Elementary School, the school named after her son.

"It's very important that I got it, I'm so happy that I have the flag. I'm so proud of my boy and all of these boys that have come to see me," says Gonzalez.
