PALMVIEW – Two Palmview police units collided during a search for a suspect. Palmview Police Chief Christopher Barrera said the officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released. The units sustained major damage.

The crash happened on Abram Road, south of 2 Mile Line, around 2 a.m. Monday. The officers were attempting to find the vehicle of a suspect involved in a disturbance at the Tierra Maria subdivision.

The patrol units were traveling north, when they lost sight of the vehicle. The police chief said the second police unit sped past another vehicle and didn’t see the primary unit was making a U-turn. The two vehicles collided.
