People under quarantine at home advised to conserve power at peak times
WESLACO – Energy providers are concerned about what might happen when more people are home and using more electricity.
A representative at Reliant Energy says air conditioners are the primary appliance people crank up at home. CHANNEL 5 NEWS is told the power grid is under pressure during the afternoon hours.
Experts say to keep an eye on how a large appliance is used and try to use it before and after peak times from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
