PHARR – A Rio Grande Valley school district has been recognized to have one of the top transportation fleets in the country.

The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District Transportation Department is ranked among the top 100 fleets in the nation for the seventh consecutive year.

Government Fleet, a leading transportation industry magazine, selected the school district “based on variety of documented criteria, including accountability, use of technology and information, staff development and training, quick and efficient repair turnaround, and resource stewardship.”

Throughout the past few years, the district says they’ve implemented new technology to help them be more efficient on bus driver’s routes.

PSJA ISD is the only school district in the Valley to be recognized.
