Residents in Weslaco Continue Rebuilding from June's Floods
UPDATE (2/6): Weslaco approved borrowing $4 million for drainage improvements last October.
Part of that funding will go towards a new camera system that can be inserted into storm drains.
The city's drainage committee and city workers will meet next week to discuss other drainage improvements.

WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley city is still rebuilding from June’s floods.
The 11 inches of rain the fell in Weslaco caused thousands of dollars of damage.
A local resident tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS he lost two cars and everything inside the house.
Voters approved a bond issued in November after a post-storm assessment of the floods.
It will provide funds for a detention pond, which will collect water in one of the most flood-prone areas in Hidalgo County.
