RGV Sector Border Patrol Agents Assisting Flood Victims

HOUSTON – U.S. Border Patrol agents are in the Houston area to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Border Patrol officials said agents assigned to the Special Operations Detachment and Riverine Boat Patrol units and EMTs from the Rio Grande Valley sector have been sent to help.

The teams include agents from the Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue Unit, who are trained in search-and-rescue operations, including water rescues and recovery.

The Riverine units will help victims trapped in high water.
