SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The Laguna Madre Water District is working on a collapsed manhole cover.

The construction on the collapsed cover is closing off some streets on South Padre Island.

Closures are happening on East Whiting and Gulf Blvd to East Pike and Gulf.

The affected areas on South Padre Island are from Amber Jack Blvd to 2600 Gulf Blvd.

Construction will be going on all day Wednesday and possibly into Thursday.
