S.P.I. city employee receives Rising Star Award

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - The City of South Padre Island is proud to announce that employee Araceli Sanchez, human resources generalist, has received The Texas Municipal Human Resources Association (TMHRA) Rising Star Award.

Sanchez is recognized for her leadership skills, communication and employee relationships with staff. Araceli has excelled in assisting employees with benefit questions, conducting safety training, and assisting with a facility safety plan. She is chair of the Employee Investment Committee, vice-chair of the Employee Safety Committee, is a Certified Court Clerk Level I and is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional.

“It is an honor for an employee of the City to be recognized for their hard work and professionalism,” stated Wendi Delgado, administrative services director. “This is just one example of the many exceptional employees we have working for the City of South Padre Island.”

The TMHRA Rising Star Award recognizes a new member who shows exceptional promise of leadership and contribution to the association and profession.
