RIO GRANDE CITY – The family of a toddler who died last week in Starr County has laid her to rest.

The 2-year-old girl died Thursday in Rio Grande City.

She went to a doctor after suffering symptoms that included a fever and vomiting.

The girl became unresponsive and was sent to the hospital.

According to the city’s public liaison, the family opted out to conduct an autopsy.
