MCALLEN – Across the Rio Grande Valley, tow trucks were dispatched to remove cars off the street during damaging floodwaters.

Police say they don’t want to take any risks in having drivers accidentally run into the stranded vehicles.

Towing companies tell us since Wednesday, they’ve responded to over 40 calls.

KRGV's Taylor Winkel spoke to the owner of a local towing company who says they were also affected by the floods.

If your car was left stranded it may have been towed. If it's not where you left it, contact your local police department to know where it's been impounded.
