BROWNSVILLE – A San Antonio man who abducted his daughter from Brownsville and took her to Mexico has pleaded guilty.

Ismail Haleel Al Gebory, 36, failed to drop off his 8-year-old daughter on Feb. 18.

Instead, he took her to Mexico City where he tried to get her a passport to Iraq, according to court documents.

Federal authorities used Brosville bridge surveillance to find out the two had crossed into Mexsico.

Al Gebory faces three in years in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2018.
