RIO GRANDE CITY – A man suspected of smuggling drugs was chased down by Border Patrol on Sunday.

The chase ended with a crash into an ice machine at a convenience store.

After the crash, the driver tried to flee but Border Patrol agents caught him.    

KRGV’s Christian Colón spoke with nearby residents who are concerned about drug activity in the area.  

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says this is an active investigation.
