EDINBURG – The trial for a teen allegedly involved in the murder of a Rio Grande City 17-year-old will be delayed.

Sebastian Torres is the second person facing charges related to the murder of Chayse Olivarez.

Torres is facing a capital murder charge and two charges for tampering with evidence.

During the trial of the man thought to have organized the murder testimony mentioned Torres got paid to find the ranch where the murder took place.

Torres was a minor when it happened but he was interviewed by authorities.

Friday his attorneys are saying that interview is inadmissible.

The magistrate judge did not review the interview immediately after to verify it was offered voluntarily as state law requires.

Prosecutors fought back saying it wasn't necessary in this situation.

The judge wanted more time to make a ruling on whether that interview will be allowed to go to trial.

It's now moved to begin in March.
