Two Women Charged with Animal Cruelty

HARLINGEN--Two Harlingen women are charged with animal cruelty.

Harlingen police officers said video shows two women separating two dogs from fighting. One of the suspects strikes one of the the dogs with its own chain and restrains it with the chain. The second women allegedly used a bat to strike the dog multiple times.

The incident happened earlier this month on the 2600 block of Wilson road. 20-year-old Nohemi Shakira Acevedo and 58-year-old Maria Felix Trigo were arrested Thursday.
