Reward Increased to Find Killer in Nearly 3-Decades Old Murd
RIO GRANDE CITY – Nearly 30 years after a Rio Grande Valley woman was murdered, her killer remains on the loose.
The Department of Public Safety announced they’re increasing a reward for information leading to 22-year-old Laura Guadalupe Guerra’s murderer.
Guerra was found shot to death in a wooded area, across the street from the Rio Motel in Rio Grande City, in May 1990.
Investigators believe she was killed somewhere else, possibly at the motel.
They also said a possible witness, known in the area as “Gaston Garza” or “Mariano”, may have information that’ll help solve the case.
