Valley Families Continue to Temporarily Live in Shelters Amid Flooding

HARLINGEN – People remain trapped inside their homes following Monday’s storms; dozens sought safety in shelters.
Jeanette Regan was forced to abandon her home and is living in a shelter for the time being.
“My refrigerator was floating. There were all kinds of things floating. That would pass me. Big, heavy things; everything was popping up,” says Regan.
Raegan suffers from arthritis and can’t walk; her medication, oxygen tanks, and glucometer are all locked inside her home.
She is receiving medical assistance from the American Red Cross medical team.
A representative from Red Cross tells us everyone who comes in is provided the attention that is needed.
Raegan says she hopes her home damage assessment is completed soon so she can figure out what to do next.
