2 Arrested for Allegedly Faking Robbery in Port Isabel

PORT ISABEL – Two men are in custody after Port Isabel police say they faked an aggravated robbery.  

Officers responded to a call at Murphy’s gas station along Texas Highway 100 on Wednesday night.

Upon arrival, the clerk told police a man entered the store and demanded money at knifepoint.

Further investigation determined the employee, Roland Ray Ramirez, and the suspect planned the robbery.

Ramirez is charged with burglary of a building.

He’s being held on a $6,000.

The other suspect has yet to be arraigned.
