ALTON – An investigation is underway in Alton after impostors were reported posing as police officers.

Five men broke into a home on Rockport Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday, yelling they were Alton police.

The homeowners told CHANNEL 5 NEWS the men forced them into their bedroom and covered their heads with blanket and beat them.

Chief Jonathan Flores says all the belongings taken were recovered when they were discovered discarded in the Mission area.
